Hello everyone,

We will have “Muffler Mender" in the web store in one week aground the 31 of Aug.

Should cost about $2.35 per tube. And last for a very long time.

See here: Muffler Mender"

I'm glad I found this post. I just noticed the suggestion to use muffler mender on a few parts of the lantern. I suppose the idea is to make sure these parts are really really well sealed? I've not used "muffler mender" before, but I was under the imression that it hardned like a rock when dry. Don't you want the threads of part #50, #33, and #3 to be able to be removed for cleaning or replacement in the future? How hot do these parts get?

Hello,

We use it(muffler mender) most on part #50 and not as much on parts #3, #33 but have.

Note: part #3 if using the ceramic one it will break when trying to take it off.( using muffler mender)

It (muffler mender)will come loose when needed, there’s too much heat given off by the lantern to make it permanent.

Why would someone need to use Muffler Mender on a lantern? If parts keep coming loose could it be due to poor design? Why is something such as a type of LocTite not added when the lantern is built?

Thank You

Etienne

Muffler Mender is a remedy, should it be required. In most heavy-use cases, there could be a tad bit of metal expansion.

You would not wish to have the parts locked together, permanently, as this would prevent changing parts, as they wear out.

This design is the best on the market today!
