I had a little problem with my lantern. When I tried to turn it off the flame wouldn't go out.
I took it apart and changed the needle and nipple. I read somewhere on this site how to set the needle so it comes up through the nipple so I did that. I set it too high and had to redo it lower. Trying to get the nipple back on without bending the needle was a job.
I finaly got it though.
When putting it back together I got the on/off knob backwards. It's supposed to be up to burn and down to turn it off. Mine is just the oposite. It lights up in the 6 oclock position.
I decided to leave it that way after all the trouble I had getting it back together without bending my needle again. It works great now so I ain't squawkin about it.
I did notice that while I had the top off it burned brighter than with it on. I raised the mixing tube as high it would go and tightened it real good while it was hot. I hope it doesn't come loose when it cools off.
My lantern is working perfectly now thanks to the advice and tips on this site.
Thank you for being here. I wish I had found this site a lot earlier.

Hi,

The knob part 111 up is off at 12:00 O'clock it will be up, and when part 111 is down at 6:00 O'clock the lantern is on, and the needle is down in the part 152 and you will not see the needle.

But if it's working great do not mess with the lamp.

God Bless!!
