You have been warned!
Wow! I have wanted one of these for ten years! It arrived yesterday! This girl, is 500 times more than I expected, and I expected a lot! I watched the DVD. One suggestion: On the DVD put a .pdf file with the exploded (parts number) drawings. When Eddie is showing us how to take the girl apart, he zips through part numbers, and I find myself singing "The hip bone's connected to the knee bone..." or what ever that goofy song from a zillion years ago was. One thing I'm going to do to her, is to put a small piece of spiral wrap over the apex of the handle, to keep myself from making divots in her tank. The two knurled knobs were not tight. Should they be? Or is keeping them loose what allows the handle to move? I was told earlier in the forum, a) that alcohol will not mix with kerosene, and you shouldn't use fuels together in the tank. Why is this? I got the bicycle pump gizmo. I read the warning about checking for leaks, with a few pumps. Is this with fuel, or not? Do I need to replace the check valves in a new pump? Thank you ever so much!! //Seoul |

"Adim" Methanol Lantern |
The nuts need to be tight if the handle does not move loosen them some but make sure the plastic rings are taken out, do not light the lantern with them in there. see this page
The part 10 will need rebuilding in 2 to 5 years you just need to check for a leak you will need fuel in the tank if you EZP has a valve you would need to take the EZP off to see a leak or when you put the bike pump on it would leak then. I have mixed kerosene and alcohol many times without problems under pressure it will mix and work I have done 10 to 20 up to 50% mixes. Like always be safe check for leaks any time using any lamp. We are working on 2 new valves one for the 196 and part 10 that will be made in the US and will never need replacement life time, keep an eye on the BBoard. God Bless!! |
